Albuquerque 2016

>> Saturday, March 12, 2016

In the middle of our trip to the States we went to Albuquerque. The 1 hour plane ride from Denver to Albuquerque was so easy compared to the 24 hours of total travel time from the Middle East. Plus we had gotten through jet lag and felt much more rested.

Eve sat with Tim on the plane while I was with the big kids.

In Albuquerque there were more people for Eve to meet. The first one was Tim's Dad. The greeting at the airport was really sweet. She was all smiles. Nammy and Papa loved it!
It didn't take long for Papa and Eve to become best buds!
One of the first things that Tim's mom had prepared for our time in Albuquerque was opening Christmas presents. She had even kept the tree up in her living room!

Eve had learned to enjoy opening presents. This was fun for Nammy & Papa to watch.
They also loved seeing the smiles from the big kids when they opened presents. I know they miss experiencing this since we live so far away and I'm glad they could recreate the experience!
I love that Tim's mom is taking Joseph's picture with her iPad! We made some sweet memories.
A few days after we got to Albuquerque, we drove about an hour south to a cabin in Socorro, NM. We spent two nights there and it was so special to have that time away together.
The weather was really nice and we got to go outside! We played a fun game called "Corn Hole" where you try to get a bean bag in the hole. Here's Jojo taking his turn.
Joseph & Tim were a team and Papa & Faith were the other team. Eve enjoyed sitting on Nammy's lap while they played. Nammy liked it too. ;)

One evening at the cabin, we celebrated Faith's birthday!!
I loved this picture! Nammy was happy to see how happy this made Faith.
Nammy & Papa love to play games. This was the game called Farkle. Eve liked watching the dice shaker.
Eve got plenty of attention from Papa & Nammy at the cabin.
Another game of Jenga.
We sure miss our friends, the Horlbecks, while we're away and we loved having some time with them! Here's a pic of Tim and Mark playing at the playground with all their kids! Fun times!
We went rollerskating one day too. We love spending time together. What great memories.
Rollerskating
These kids have such a good time together.
We really enjoyed spending time at home just hanging out. I couldn't help but to take a picture of Tim holding Eve and playing ping pong with his mother.

When we left home Eve was just starting to scoot around on her belly. While we were in the States she started crawling. It was fun for family to watch this transition! This is video of some of her first crawling in Nammy & Papa's living room.

One day Tim's Aunt Reta and Uncle Duane stopped by to meet Eve. It was good to see them and hear how God had worked a miracle in Duane's life. We're thankful that God has sustained Duane's life and that we got to see him!
Jeni's Uncle Tim had recently moved to Albuquerque from Chicago and it was great to see him again! Uncle Tim is super tall and so is Joseph. Here's a picture of our two tall guys!
Uncle Tim and Aunt Shelly are loving Albuquerque! It was really neat to get to hear about how much they enjoy living in Albuquerque.
One more pic with Uncle Tim.
Another evening Tim's mom prepared to have some more family over. Little did I know that she had a cake for my birthday! I was surprised when everyone wanted to sing happy birthday to me. Gloria sure does enjoy celebrating people and she blessed me.
One of Tim's cousins came over and here's a pic of the second cousins together.
We didn't get a picture of all the family that came over that evening, but we did get this one. Tim's Uncle Nate and Aunt Marilyn sent us this picture of them with Eve. This picture makes me smile.
The last couple days that we were there, Tim's Aunt Joyce and Uncle Carl came over from Phoenix. It was so good to see them too!
Aunt Joyce likes to do crossword puzzles. So Joseph and Faith got some crossword puzzles to work on with her. This was another shot I couldn't pass up!
