Good-Bye to Jared

Sometimes I'm painfully aware that time is passing quickly. Last week was Jared's last church with us before their family would go to the States for the summer. In September he will go to boarding school with his sister instead of coming back with his parents. We're going to miss him so much.
It has been such a privilege to watch him grow! In the last few months he's gotten really good at playing guitar. On his last friday at church he lead worship with Tim! We were all so proud of him!
Tim and Jared practiced together and had fun getting ready. It was fun to see the look on Jared's face when he got to play distortion for the hymn "Immortal Invisible."
A few days later I finished Jared's quilt! There's something really rewarding about seeing the completed product!
I also made a quilt for Megan before she left for boarding school. Both quilts were fun to make even though they're so different.
As soon as I finished it I wrapped it up and we got ready to give it to him!
I even got a grin from Jared before he opened it!
This picture makes it all worth it! I am so happy that he likes it! It was great to see him wearing the quilt!
Joseph and Faith kept begging him to play video games with them for the last time.
This boy has gotten so tall!! He's passed his mother up in height!
We have so many fun memories with Jared and Megan! Some of our favorite memories were when they stayed with us for three weeks last June.
They've been a special part of our lives for the years that we've been overseas. I found a few pictures from 2009 when we first moved to The Island. We first met them at the end of 2006 and a few years later we ended up living in the same country.
Joseph and Faith are both very attached to Jared and Megan! This picture was taken before Faith was even a part of our family!
I love this picture of Jared and Joseph! Until he got too big, Joseph used to love sitting on Jared's lap to play video games or watch movies.
