Italy Trip

We recently went to Italy for a family vacation and had a great time! Our first stop was the Colosseum in Rome. We stayed in an apartment that was only a five minute walk from the Colosseum and the kids loved that!

We hadn't traveled for 3 months and Eve had changed so much. She was more aware and into everything than before, but we still had fun.

Tim is so patient with her as she grabs the magazines and other things in his seat.

After flying all night, we were glad to finally make it to Rome!

Walking around the Colosseum was surreal.

There were so many statues and fountains there. We were amazed.

One day we went inside the Colosseum and that was such an awesome experience. Joseph and Faith pretended that they were gladiators and imagined fighting in the arena. They could imagine the lions coming up from below the floor.

We used an audio tour guide as we walked around and the kids enjoyed listening to it. Faith kept saying things like, "They're talking about the games and the animals that were there."

We bought a small, light stroller before this trip and were so thankful for it as we carried it up and down so many stairs.

This picture was taken when we first walked inside. All we could say was, "Wow!"

Eve was glad to get out of her stroller and climb around on the rocks. Here's my favorite picture of these three...inside the Colosseum.

Another day we went on the metro to the Vatican City.

This is the St. Peter's Basilica. We didn't go in, because taking Eve in there with the crowds didn't sound like fun to us.

She really wanted to crawl around on the ground.

She was so happy to walk around in the Piazza.

There was a tour group from China there and one lady loved watching Eve. She played with her and walked around with her. We laughed!

So many of them were taking her picture. This made us laugh too.

A couple days later, we boarded a plane and went to see some more of Italy.

We went to a city on the coast of the Adriatic Sea and it was beautiful! Here Eve is sharing some gelato with Tim. The gelato in Italy was so good!

We took a gondola ride as a family. It was fun!
