Moved In!!!

>> Friday, September 23, 2011

These last couple weeks have been so busy for us. In the midst of getting over jet lag we started house hunting. God provided a wonderful place for our family and we are so thankful!!

I had forgotten how exhausting it is to find a house and move in. We are thankful to be in and unpacked! We still have a few things to do like buy a new table since our old kitchen table is too small.

This was what the entry way looked like the first time we saw it....empy and dusty! It's funny, but they don't clean up an empty place here until someone decides to rent it, then they clean it up. haha!

Here is the entry way with all of our luggage! We are still so amazed that we didn't have any problems with luggage when we traveled.

This is what it looked like once the bags were all unpacked! Being unpacked feels so good!!

We're going to put cushions in this room and it will be a "mejilis" that's arabic for "sitting room." It's very common here to sit on cushions on the floor and we're looking forward to doing this in our home!

This is another view of the entry way and you can see into the living room. The kids love having some room to ride their bikes around! They love their new home!

As we were moving in the a/c company was also there installing a brand new air conditioner! This is called a "split" because part of the unit goes on the wall and the other part is outside. This unit cools the living room and the entry way...it works well and we're thankful!

This picture shows the guys working on the outside installing that same a/c unit.

While the a/c guys were busy working to make our house cool, I was sweating, trying to figure out where everything belongs!

We were thankful for friends' help! I didn't get pictures of everyone who helped, but we're thankful for everyone who helped out. Three days Joseph and Faith were at friends' houses so that I could unpack and organize. I don't know what I would have done without that!

We were really blessed that some friends who were moving away gave us a set of bunk beds for the kids! In this picture Tim and Jon are moving the bunk beds to our house.

Here was what the kids room looked like on day 1! It looks much better now. After another week we're hoping to stack the bunk beds to make more room for playing!

It was good to get the boxes out of the house! I was happy to see the boxes go away!! We're hoping to stay in this place for longer than one year...seems almost unreal to be in one house for more than one year! :)

Tim was willing to put pictures on the walls for me. The problem here is that the walls are all made of cement, which makes it hard to put nails into the wall.

I don't know if you can tell, but the nail is totally bent in this picture....Tim wasn't happy. :(

Joseph and Faith are very happy at our new house!!!! They love playing on the slide and with their toys!! Tim and I are glad to see that our kids are happy! We're all very blessed!

I love seeing all the pictures! You've done great job moving in!
I don't know when I've seen such an unhappy look on my brother's face...silly walls!!!

Do you have 3M Command Strips there? They have all kinds of sizes and might stick to the concrete walls.
