Sometimes we get the chance to travel to interesting places. Tim is a manager at the institute he works at and they recently went away on a managers retreat. The kids and I got to tag along. The three managers had planning meetings for some of the time. We got some down time and some fun time! We're glad we got to go to Sri Lanka.
One night we had a traditional Sri Lankan dinner. The food was spicy, but tasty!
It was fun to be with this group!
One day we went to an elephant orphanage.
Joseph, Faith and Tim fed the elephants some fruit and vegetables. It was a cool experience!
We got to see the elephants walking to the river for their bath time.
Faith had the dream of riding an elephant. We didn't end up going for a ride, but she got to sit on the elephant and that made her happy!
We went to a budhist temple.
We rode a Tuk-Tuk!
We also got to see some traditional Sri Lankan dancing. This video shows two men dancing with fire. They also swallowed the flame and walked across burning coals. It was pretty incredible to watch.
