Christmas with friends

>> Friday, December 30, 2011

We had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas with friends! On Christmas Day we gathered with a lot of friends to celebrate Jesus!

One friend led us in a wonderful devotional time! We read through many old testament scriptures as the kids opened a boxes inside of boxes. Each one showed that Jesus was a very anticipated gift!

The kids enjoyed opening the gifts!

The kids also did a nativity play! They were all so cute!

In this picture you can see the angels to the left, the inn keeper to the right and Joseph & Mary in the middle.

Faith played Mary! I thought she made a great Mary!

We had a couple of cute shepherds! One of the shepherds was a little shy in front of people so his mommy stayed close. She played the role of the "shepherd's mommy" a pretty important role, I say!

Joseph played one of the wise men. He carried burning frankincense. He took his role very seriously.

I thought Joseph made a great wise man!

Here's a video of the nativity play:

It was great to be with friends who are more like family. Since we all live so far from our families in the States, we're thankful for each other!

Joseph took a lot of pictures with his new camera! We gave him our first digital camera that we bought 11 years ago!

If you'd like to see his Christmas pictures you can go to his Christmas Pictures album!

We had Mexican food for our Christmas dinner and everyone seemed to love it! The kids all sat on the floor. It was the quietest that we had seen them.

Of course we had a gift exchange too! The kids picked names and bought a book for the person they picked!
