Fixing our eyes on Christ

In the last couple of weeks God has been refining our family. God is so good to walk through both the good times and the difficult times with us. Having our faith tested and purified is so hard. But, in the end, it's so worth it. 

We have had to choose to obey Him daily as we seek to honor Him in our parenting. There are times when all we can do is cry out to God and ask Him to help us and carry us through. This is when we choose to trust Him even though we don't feel like it. 

More than anything Tim and I want for our family to be defined by Christ. We want to lead our kids to His Word. There have been several verses that we've been clinging to, but most importantly Hebrews 12:2 "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who, for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning it's shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." 

We know that if it wasn't for Jesus we wouldn't be able to do anything good at all. He's more than just our help...he's our life. Jesus said in John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing." 

Will you pray for our family to cling to God's word? Pray for us as we try to parent these precious kids in such a way that glorifies Christ! Pray also for Joseph and Faith!
